Have you ever noticed that the foreskin of your penis is sometimes way too tight?  This may seem like a weird condition, but it is one that is common and there is indeed a medical term for it.

The medical term is called Phimosis, and it applies to those men who are uncircumcised who have a foreskin that is too tight.  If this is you then you can tell quite easily because in this case you will not be draw the foreskin over the head of your penis.

Young children are known to suffer from this condition a lot, which is why it is often recommended to parents of newborns to circumcise them right away.  The earlier this is done the better.

Phimosis may seem like a condition that a man can live with, but they cannot.  It is a condition that impacts little children just as much as adult men.  It can become very serious if it is not addressed, oftentimes the male may experience pain whenever he is trying to get an erection.  You could only imagine how uncomfortable this must be for the man.

Also whenever the man is trying to use the bathroom he may have a hard time doing so as well, because the urinary stream can become blocked.  These are extreme conditions, and they can both be solved.  In many cases though there are men who experience Phimosis and they are able to deal with it without any type of complications.

When it comes to the cause of Phimosis, there are many.  So do not think that there is something you might have done in particular in order to cause this condition. Some times diabetic men may suffer from it because they will have large amounts of sugar in their urine.  These men will find that bacteria will breed beneath their foreskin easily and they will have to be more diligent about cleaning it.

Can Bacteria in the Foreskin Cause Phimosis?

If bacteria keeps breeding under the foreskin then it can lead to the condition of Phimosis.  Not only this, but any other number of conditions which can be caused by an unclean member.

Some men also need special devices in order to help them to get through certain conditions they might be going through.  Men who use a catheter for example might find that they are more at risk for this condition then someone who doesn’t use one.

Inflammation can also lead to Phimosis, which is why men need to take care to make sure they do not get too heated down there.  Exposure to too much heat can definitely be a problem.  In this case taking some sort of anti inflammation medication or applying a cream may work to keep this condition under control.

What if I am Already Circumcised?

Men who are circumcised have nothing to worry about when it comes to this condition. It is only the men who were not circumcised who really are at risk.

In many cases doctors recommend circumcision because it prevents this very condition.  So as you can see if you want to avoid Phimosis, in your children, then you need to seriously consider getting them circumcised.

If you are an adult and suffering from this condition, you should talk to your doctor about it.  There is no need to be embarrassed when it comes to quality of life!
