There Are Some Side Effects of Yohimbe That You MUST Know About…

yohimbe side effectsErectile dysfunctions as well as sexual dysfunctions for both men and women are some of the most embarrassing situations an individual can face.

Despite the fact that almost half of the population suffers sexual dysfunctions in one form or another, people are still reluctant to ask for medical help because of perceived humiliation.

Because of discomfiture, people who have sexual dysfunction turn to confidantes, close friends, and the internet for options in getting treatment.

The search for the cure or treatment of sexual dysfunctions almost always ends up with sex enhancement products. Many of these self-proclaimed cures attract people not only because of their potential to treat or cure sexual dysfunctions, but also in their overall health benefits to the prospective user.

One of the most common ingredients found in sex enhancement products is called Yohimbe. In fact, one would be hard pressed to look for such a product without seeing Yohimbe as one of its many ingredients.

Origins of Yohimbe

Because the search for the treatment or cure of erectile dysfunction can be an all-consuming and highly-lucrative activity, the said pursuit has led researchers all the way to the vast African continent.

Somewhere inside the often tumultuous countries of Gabon, Zaire, and Cameroon are an evergreen tree called Yohimbe. From its bark is a chemical compound called Yohimbine, which is supposed to be the cure or treatment of known sexual dysfunctions, particularly impotence.

Popular Effects of Yohimbe Supplements

Researchers say that Yohimbe widens the blood vessels among other things. As such, they should be able to allow the blood to go freely to the penis which could prove to be potentially the cure or treatment of erectile dysfunction and other sexual disorders.

Manufacturers make Yohimbe a big part of the ingredients because they believe that the yohimbine chemical does wonders for the erection. However, since male enhancements also use a plethora of other ingredients, it is still uncertain what yohimbe can do on its own.

Aside from the possibility of treating erectile dysfunction, studies have also been made about the ability of yohimbe in helping people lose weight. The research was made decades ago and was done with only a handful of test subjects that conclusions are questionable at the very least.

Aside from being a remedy for erectile dysfunction and in aiding weight loss, Yohimbe is said to work wonders for the libido of both men and women. It is supposed to be an aphrodisiac of the highest order.

This is potentially a jack of all trades substance as some would even go as far as saying that it can act as a stimulant, help cure leprosy, and other maladies. Again, the scarcity of scientific data and test results are really hurting the proponents of yohimbe.

Yohimbine Hydrochloride and Yohimbe Supplements

Yohimbe supplements are supposed to be the bark extracts from the Yohimbe tree in lesser concentration. As supplements, they do not have to be endorsed by the FDA. The FDA, in the case of supplements, will only step in if there are complaints about the safety of the supplements or some deceptive claims on the part of the manufacturer.

Yohimbine hydrochloride, on the other hand, is the ingredient found in male enhancement products and has been considered as a remedy to erectile dysfunction as early as the 30’s. This is labelled a prescription drug and is automatically monitored by the FDA. The FDA is directly involved in the testing and sale, among others, of the yohimbine hydrochloride.

Here are the “Must Know” Side Effects of Yohimbe

Since there were no thorough and meticulous testing and initial application of the yohimbe, there are bound to be some side effects that people must know about. Some of these side effects are quite alarming which makes it all the more important for people who are probably planning to take yohimbe supplements or male enhancement products with significant yohimbine hydrochloride concentration.

Here are some of the side effects associated with yohimbe:

· Genital pain
· Painful and recurrent urination
· Cardiovascular effects like elevated blood pressure and heart rate
· Breathing difficulties
· Stomach aches
· Difficulty in sleeping
· Rashes and some skin flushing
· Irregular heartbeat
· Dizziness

These are just a few of the dangerous side effects of taking yohimbe related products. Some of the side effects require immediate medical attention.

Also, women who are pregnant or those who suspect of being pregnant are strictly prohibited from taking in products with yohimbe ingredients unless medical advice is given. Women who are also breastfeeding should heed the caution given to pregnant ladies. Children should also be prevented from taking in this chemical extract.

People should consult their doctors before taking yohimbe supplements. They should inform their doctors about diseases that might be triggered or endangered because of yohimbe.

Dangerous diseases in the kidney or the heart, could prove fatal when complicated with yohimbe. People undergoing depression or psychiatric care should also make it a point to inform their doctors if they intend to take yohimbe supplements.

Unless future tests are done and better data are available, it is of paramount importance that people should have medical advice before getting involved with yohimbe related products.

Have you tried any supplements with Yohimbe in them? If so, how did it make you feel?
